So I was off for like six weeks and when I started back to work the truck started acting up. It was showing actuator code, it went into limp mode once and lost power a few times pulling. The turbo and actuator were both replaced August 2017 so it's done well. I was looking around and I thought I saw on here that Jerry was getting turbos from { turbo place in IL} but I might be mistaken. But anyway, has anyone experienced them and if so how were they? Also are there anyone else that I can check out? They are doing a sale on mine with the actuator with a 250 core on the actuator.
I have been running some short loads because work is busy and I really need the money since I was out for so long. If I keep the boost low I haven't had an issue in two days but I'm just trying to prepare. I haven't pulled the actuator but I pulled the intake pipe and the charge air pipe and I don't have any oil and the wheel is tight. I think it might have carboned up because I started it every few days. Sensors have all been pulled and looked like new.
Truck is a 2008 Prostar with 871, built by Allison in February 2021 and tuned at the same time and only has just over 350,000 on the build.

Their turbos work good, but for whatever reason some of them do not hold oil. Mind you OEM remans do suffer the same issue..

I went through two turbos with them. one the actuator ceased up on and they warrantied it no problem. The next one leaked oil so bad it was pooling in my cac boots but it was out of warranty. So I just went and bought Cummins reman. Didn’t really trust them after that and was tired of being down for 2-3 days to fix it after waiting for turbo. I will say they are quick with shipping however I live 2 hours away from them

90% of the time that a turbo bleeds oil, it is due to pressure in the crank case of the engine building up.

I bought one and it had a major failure after two years. I can’t necessarily blame the turbo. I don’t know why it did it. A piece broke off the turbine wheel and threw it out of balance, bending the shaft.
I bought another one because it was quick to get it and I replaced it in a truck stop.
That one gave me a couple of actuator codes within a month. They sent me another actuator and it’s been fine.

The place you're mentioning actually does have great customer service in my opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that they seem to be hit and miss. Even great customer service still means down time and headaches to overcome. I'm still running their actuator on one of my trucks (X-15) even though I'm on the 3rd try. Although this one seems to be the best of the 3.... its only about 9 months old, so it's about due to act up.

I have a YTS turbo in my other truck (ISX15)

Seems genuine Cummins original or reman is the way to go for the long haul most of the time. YTS is also a viable option from what I've read here and experienced myself.
