Just working my way through this isx 871 rebuild by Rawze and was curious how you keep your oil that clean? Are you running a bypass filter and is the truck demandated? I feel like I’d have to change my oil every 100 hours to keep it that clean. Yet you have 20,000 miles on your oil in that video and it’s still clean.

The oil staying clean for about 10k+ miles or more at a time in an ISX that is well cared for is not that unusual actually, once the right conditions are met.

== No, it is not the bypass filter keeping it that clean. Matter of fact, I had removed that filter a year or 2 prior.

== One clue ... There is no more soot is going into the intake + very good custom programming that I did myself, set up just for my application and driving style.

== I am also a Hyper-miler that barely presses the fuel pedal everywhere I go, I only drive 60~ish mph, + never abuses the engine.
