05 9990 eagle electrical issues
Hey guys. Where do I start

1.A couple days ago my speedo sensor went bad again that I changed November.
Issues: cruise don’t work, occasionally delayed throttle response, speedo needle doing gymnastics

2.breaker Fuse F8c keeps chipping started last night
Issues: dash lights/Instrument cluster lights / truck marker and lights all go out at once after I reset the breaker fuse. Note; they don’t go out if the truck is sitting but as soon as I drive off the fuse chips.diff lock light indicator in the dash keep coming off and on for no reason. Hazard and trailer stopped working just now as I am about to back up on a dock

One thing to add I did notice my voltage instrument needle surged more than usual a while ago.

I replaced f8C with with a reg fuse, fried it instantly so I put back the breaker

Truck: 05 9990 eagle - isx
And yeah I know international is notorious for these ghost electrical issues

Tarnished fuses will cause all kinds of ghost issues, even if the fuse/breaker is good.
here is a nice example...

lol that’s crazy. Thanks for the reply. When I was being unloaded I found a breaker fuse that was chipped and reset it and all lights came back surprisingly and stayed on for the 60 mile journey home. I’m still not comfortable though so I’ll see what I can replace in the fuse box.Anywhere I can source the breaker fuses quickly?

lol. Took a dip under to change my oil and yeah a rubber - steel clamp bracket let loose from rust. The shaft took out the wires above aswell. I trace that loom straight back to a wire junction on the passenger side that goes to the fuse box. Image below - the middle set is where the cut is running from

RE: 05 9990 eagle electrical issues
Thanks for sharing the solution.

Old vehicles... old wiring.. age and wear is the reason that some trucks should only be driven for so many years and then retired into becoming an RV instead.

When it comes to hauling freight and having to rely on it every day for your income ... Accumulative Downtime due to rotted out wiring, chassis, and other components that are falling apart and rotting away can be far more costly on older trucks than buying something 20+ years newer and making payments on it.

If the owner is hauling freight with that truck on the daily ... Someone should them that a 2005 truck should NOT be hauling freight full time 20 years later. Its well past time to replace that equipment and move on.
