Just to close this issue - I hate it when someone posts a problem and then never the resolution making it less useful to those who have the same or similar issue.

The temporary 15A fuse never blew but I didn't want to risk having the truck go down at the wrong place and loaded with a critical load.

I purchased an OEM ECM at MHC and took it along with my truck to Haggai to let them replace it and reprogram it. I could not take it to a dealer for the recall as they would have read my current ECM and then likely told me my truck would have to be towed from the property...

The ECM cost $2808.30 plus a $1000 core charge. Plus labor at Haggai.

Oh well, that's the cost of a very good running truck that will long outlast my desire to drive it.
