How to program a new ISX ECM from the old one

First and foremost, copy the program from the ECM that is acting up and e-mail it to me for a proper review.

Find out what someone did in there and stop making assumptions.

For all anyone knows, it may have progressively caused the issues that you currently have. Seem that everyone always assumes the program is good until they review it and see that it is nothing but engine killing trash. In all reality, the odds are stacked highly against you for it being harmful programming, as the chances are are more than 95% to 1 that its bad.

For this reason, you should automatically assume as a default, that the programming is bad up front, not the other way around just because 'it seems ok so far'. Bad programming causes what is knows as 'Progressive damage', severely shortening the life of the engine, ecm, turbo, etc. and hardly ever shows up right away, sometimes taking a couple years or more, often depending on how hard the equipment is run.

Making the mistake of assuming that your the one guy who has won the lottery before even looking at the ticket is a very bad place to put yourself, especially as a repair shop. - Never do this.

For all anyone knows, you could very well be dooming the next ecm (or engine, turbo, etc. ) towards its next premature failure.

- NEVER EVER take for granted of 'how good it seems to have run so far, because this is a $40,000+ commercial engine/equipment you are talking about, and someone's business is at stake in the end.

- After copying it out, e-mail it to me for a review of what someone did in there.. If your curious enough, I will even show you for yourself if you like, so that you can make your own decisions .. (to which most people find out for themselves how bad it almost always is at that point). It is not some secret rocket science.
