I think you mean the little shiny ring. It’s all intact. Just the damage on the blades and the housing.

I literally just pulled my turbo off yesterday. After 1.05mil, it's also sticking....which is really a-shame, because the damn thing looks and feels fantastic (outside of the initial 30% of the arm sweep).

After 13-14 months started letting oil by the seal. No warranty after a year.

Also, just ordered one from the same place, so hopefully that's not the service it gives me. I've read some great reviews/recommendations of that place from this forum.

(Yesterday )Mrkentee Wrote:  ....replaced with one from a turbo place near Chicago....A few days ago, the bearing on this one failed after 23 months... The Chicago company is well thought of by a well known shop. Part of the reason I used them.

I even used this company as well. I know who recommended their services and also how impressed they were with the facility at said company. With that being said, the part I purchased arrived quick, packaged well and looked to be a quality reconditioned component. However, I only got a couple months out of it before near total failure. The company did expedite another part, so they're customer service appears to be great, but I think their recon turbos and components are hit and miss unfortunately.

With that amount of cost on turbos, I'd certainly be checking and double checking all other factors. What would you say the total mileage on the last 2 turbos added up to? Considering your first two were nearly 1.2m, it would be interesting to see the comparison with the last ones.
