How is the quality of aftermarket wiring harnesses?

This happened with official approved aftermarket part on a deere engine - ring gear that was so bad it failed to get engine started. It costed me starter + needed to reinstall engine and buy original ring gear (old one was not that bad, had small wear on it and since it was already apart I decided to replace it). In the end saving a penny costed me a dollar.

How much new ORIGINAL wiring harness costs?

2006 year truck has loads of other issues popping up too and unless it is used for a farm truck it is getting too old to be dependant on it for income. Or it has had been taken care of properly. Newer trucks usually take way less time to fix since there is less rust, less age implied wear and tear and what is more the fuel consumption on newer engines is lower too...

What is the issue why you need to replace wiring harness? Because of isolation failure or something has been improperly routed and not held down with guidance brackets and has rubbed through OR there is oil leak that has attracted sand and dirt and due to vibration something has rubbed through? Also there is a chance that somebody used multimeter to ring through wiring loom and did not use special pins for plugs and has stretched out those connectors?

I know from cars that some 2005 era stuff had wiring isolation that just crumpled off and became cracked. Also some newer stuff has wiring isolation that is crumpling off near exhaust sensor wirings because of the heat and subpar materials being used.

I have couple of truck and car wiring looms left outside in the elements and the sun for more than five years and there is no uv damage and still soft and does not crack when bending. Most cheap wire you can buy has really crappy isolation.
