de-mandating X15 450SA I am new to the forum, and I am sorry to say I probably will not have a lot to add the discussions (basically I would not like to let my ignorance show). That be said, I truly believe that you cannot learn anything when you are talking you only learn when you are listening, and I am here to learn. So, thank you in advance for the education. I have considered de-mandating a couple of different trucks, but they were working and not giving me allot of trouble, so I had no real need. The last trip out in my current truck, Utah to Illinois, dealing with SCR errors the whole derate 25%, 40% to 5 mph. I have decided it was time to do something. #1 _ I have read/heard all the good about De-mandating and the only real bad comes from one that is done incorrectly. I have never seen anybody, other than the business themselves, recommend a reputable tuner. Would that be something you could help me with? #2_ After a de-mandating would you need your automatic trans. recalibrated to optimize the changes? #3_ Possibly the most important question of all. Does anyone know or know someone who can de-mandate/disable/turn off the F**KING CRASH MIDIGATION and ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL on a 2019 International LT625? If not how about the DAMN WARNING BEEPER? I could not begin express how sick I am of hearing it. Thank you again for any help it is greatly appreciated.[/font] | |||

RE: de-mandating X15 450SA (08-19-2025 )sslack Wrote: ... ============================================== Option A ... Is to simply keep the stuffs on there and do regular EGR tune-up work to the engine once a year so that it does not act up like that. It is the ENGINE that causes the bulk of emissions systems problems, and everyone ignores the engine until all those systems are crying and complaining... and still, most people continue to ignore the engine, chasing DPF/SCR/etc. issues round and round they go .. never solviong them,.. because guess what.. they are still ignoring THE CAUSE... and that is THE ENGINE ITSELF!!!, and its egr, fueling, etc. systems that are in a dire state of cleaning/service etc. causing all of it. info: https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?...pid=9#pid9 ============================================== Option B ... (if you live in a foreign country where its legal)... For your question #2... NO... if you have a Automatic tranny,.. there is nothing special that needs to be done other than ensuring that any custom changes to your engine ECU do not include settings that would effect its interaction with an Auto tranny. ============================================== For your question #1... THE PROBLEM... is that more than 90%+ of all de-mandate (delete) 'tuning'/programming, is ABSOLUTELY HARMFUL... and in a BIG WAY!. This is because more than 90% of all people doing this type of work have no absolute clue how a modern diesel engine works, nor how an ECM works either. They tend to dig blindly thru settings, randomly, poke and prod with sheer ignorance. They hide all the faults from showing up in the dash,.. and do little else, and the engine proceeds to slowly destroy itself with excessive internal friction, an over-spooling turbo, and eventually a dropped valve, or cracked head gasket, or perhaps chewing turbochargers up like candy, among other issues ... all of which are caused by the half-baked changes. Can it be done right??... Absolutely. Those types of (de-mandate) changes can be done right, where the engine itself runs properly and does not suffer any shortened lifespan, but sadly,.. VERY few people exist that are able to actually do this. The issue is that bad delete tuning is a completely out of control plague in the trucking industry. I review more than 1,000+ programs a year for people and believe me when I say its bad... REAL BAD!. The worst part of all is that there is always lots of truck owners who will make claims that 'their tuning guy is better, and cares a lot, and does lots of engines' type of scenario, but the reality is suddenly far different, once one of these people's programs are reviewed to see what they did in there. SO.... The solution to your #1 question,.. of WHO??... is not so simple at all. I can tell you that there are very few people out there that I have reviewed their work / vetted, etc., and it was NOT significantly harmful in some way. the bad delete collection is a fine example of how bad it really is out there... ref: https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?...5#pid13255 Because of this, many a truck owners on this forum have actually resorted to doing the programming part (and mechanical work too) for themselves if they are half decent with operating a PC in general. It is not too difficult to simply copy the file to/from their ecu and then e-mail it off for a proper review, etc.. and to have any custom changes made PROPERLY while they are at it. here is info on this: https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?...5#pid72945 ... and if they want to 'close their eyes' so to say ... and have help them someone remotely, then there are a few names listed at the bottom of that article of people who are known to do things right. ============================================== For Question #3 ... There have been a lot of discussions about that garbage crash mitigation trash they are putting an newer trucks. some people disable it in different ways, but it is typically not a simple 'Off' type of scenario. it usually involves BOTH adjusting engine settings,,. AND cab and/or ABS module settings, + the unit itself, and that can be a real pain. Maybe search thru the forum and see what others have done?.
