Dd15 fuel issue - Cwmartinjr - 06-04-2022
I'm dealing with a 2018 cascade dd15 505hp. The fuel pump went out and sent metal shavings throughout the engine. The fuel pump ,injectors ,fuel filters and the whole fuel system has been cleaned including the fuel tanks. There was no codes for a few minutes but now there is a code of spn 3663 fmi 5. What is the code and possible issue or issues. TIA

When the fuel pump goes out on an ISX, it gets into the whole enigne and tears things up.
Not sure about Detroit but someone might also need to check for shavings in the oil filter and possibly pull/inspect a rod and main bearing for scars too.

There almost the same setup Rawze
There lubed by engine oil BUT the sections are isolated
and when they go out they act like a ford and trash the fuel system
once you remove that pump you need to flush the complete system and replace
ALL the check valves and injectors
And hope you got it all,
What ive come up with is replace the check valves with regular fittings (or take the old valves and drill them out) hook a auto zone fuel transfer pump up just in front of the tank and just let it run with some minarlspirts.
let it pull and return to a 5 gal bucket, flush forward and backwards for couple hours
Then rinse with fresh fuel once the flushing is done
