RE: Why I add 12% (one gallon) of gear lube at every oil change... - JimT - 07-09-2022 Stopped by my local TSC today for some bolts and checked on the gear lube. 5 Gal pail Traveller 80w90 GL-5 $69.99 (assuming the tag on the shelf is correct). That's about $14/gal which is currently cheaper than SuperTech at my local Walmart. But more importantly it's in stock and available. On the back of the pail it said: Quote:API Service GL-5, MT-1, MIL-PRF-2105E, SAE J-2360 and Mack Truck G0-G, G0-H.[attachment=8454] [attachment=8455] [attachment=8456] RE: Why I add 12% (one gallon) of gear lube at every oil change... - amermextrucker - 03-01-2025 If mandate is still on truck can gear oil still be ran in engine ? On my prostar it was demandated and gear oil did a beautiful job as far as keeping it clean. I would likely not be harmful as long as the engine has low blo-by and is not consuming oil. |
